Dye sublimation offers the most durability, as it involves fusing ink into the fabric. This produces vibrant images that do not fade over time. However, the truth is that the designs you can achieve with this method are incredibly limited. You can only use dye sublimation on light-colored, polyester-based materials.
Both screen printing and direct-to-film (DTF) printing also provide good durability. Both methods will last between 50 and 100 washes. While it is a great option because it produces a rich, textured finish, screen printing requires a lot of labor and doesn't allow you to apply intricate designs.
DTF printing, on the other hand, is often the option of choice because it allows you to apply images to just about any material and can be used to add detailed images. It gives you a high- quality print without the limitations of the other two methods.
